The Ambassadors are a team of special needs individuals that promote inclusion and understanding.
The Ambassadors basketball team was created in our effort to promote inclusion, understanding and friendship while playing in a fun environment. The Ambassadors travel the state to play first responders and other organizations.
These games bring the community together and breakdown stigmas on both sides of the court.
The Ambassadors have traveled to play first responders in Bayonne, Cranford, Carteret and Oceanport.
Our next game will be in Carteret on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Carteret High School at 12:00. Tickets are available at the door for $5.00.

Carteret
We are looking forward to playing our 3rd game against the Carteret PBA and local teachers.. Our next game is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 12:00.
The Carteret games have allowed us to help not only bring a spotlight to the special needs community and the work of Shining Stars but also the great work of the Carteret Specials organization — who create events for the special needs community in their town!
Bayonne
We have played in Bayonne three times now against members of the Fire Department and Police Department! We can’t wait for our next game!
Cranford
We have played the Cranford PBA twice now and as always, the experiences are amazing! Looking forward to next year! Sincere thanks to Chris Polito and Greg Federici for organizing these events.
Oceanport
Our 2019 game against the Oceanport PBA was a great success! Thanks to Mayor Jay Coffey and the borough council for their incredible help!
Monmouth Park Jockeys
The Ambassadors played members of the Monmouth Park jockey colony and won a nailbiter 64-62! Thanks to all the jockeys who attended. Everyone is looking forward to the rematch!
New Providence/Harlem Wizards
For the past four years, the Ambassadors have played at halftime of New Providence High School’s “Spread the Word” game in front of a capacity crowd! We were also excited to be invited to play against the world famous Harlem Wizards in what was a fabulous night for everyone involved! Thank you to Vinny Colangelo and Christine Noppenberger for your continued support of Shining Stars Network!!
