Camp Shine is a theater camp for individuals with special needs which increases self-confidence through the performing arts. For ages 10 and up, the camp is set during the last two weeks of August.

Camp Shine is a theater camp for individuals with special needs which increases self-confidence through the performing arts. Our two-week camp shines a spotlight on the special needs community and is culminated with a performance showcase. The camp focuses on team building, social skills, and positivity through acting, singing and dancing.

“The camp is designed to not only teach the performing arts but to also build self-esteem and self-confidence,” noted founder and co-director Sally Curci. “All campers have individual acts as well as being a part of the group numbers, which promotes teamwork. It’s a fun two weeks.”

COVID-19 Protocols

The risk of transmission of the Covid-19 virus in a mostly outdoor environment is believed to be very low, yet there is no way for us to completely eliminate that risk. We are updating our Covid-19 protocols regularly based on CDC guidelines. Please check the website regularly to stay up to date on our protocols for the summer.

**To ensure the safety of all campers and staff,
Covid-19 vaccinations are REQUIRED to attend camp.**

COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY
ALL staff and campers are required to have completed the Covid-19 Vaccine, no later than July 30, 2021. ALL staff and campers are required to upload proof of vaccine by July 30, 2021. If the proof of vaccine is not emailed by July 30, Shining Stars Network has the right to forfeit your spot to an individual on the waitlist. All three approved Covid vaccines will all be accepted.

Face Masks
Masks will not be required outside but WILL be required inside as of right now except when eating lunch and when maintaining a proper physical distance. If campers are unable to comply with our mask mandate after all accommodations are attempted, they will be asked to leave that day for the safety of our staff and campers.

Temperature checks
Temperature checks of our campers and staff will be conducted daily during camp arrival. If any camper or staff member has a temperature of 100.4, they will not be allowed to attend that day.

Daily Health Certification
Campers/staff will submit a “Daily Health Certification” each day upon arrival at camp regarding symptoms, exposures, or out-of-state travel.

Extra Cleaning & Sanitizing
Hand sanitizer will be placed at multiple locations throughout the building and outside
Limit the use of any shared equipment. If anything is shared, it will be sanitized in between uses.

Social Distancing
We will be practicing social distancing staying at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from other people who are not from your household in both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Virtual Back-Up
If we have a positive case or if CDC or state mandates prohibit us from running the Camp Shine In-Person session we will move that session to a Virtual setting running it through Zoom.
